The
enormous rise in numbers of TV spectators towards the
end of the 60s and beginning of the 70s was entailed
by such shrewd and popularized shows as «Incredible
but true», «The world of animals»
or «The Travellers' Club». The series of
documentaries on foreign countries «Journeys abroad»
even found their way into the «Guinness Book of
Records» as the oldest and most valuable TV production.
This immense popularity was mostly due to the show's
director and host, Dr. med. Juri Senkievich, who had
participated in several expeditions himself.
